Fingal Beekeepers

Allow Us To Introduce Ourselves

Fingal North Dublin Beekeepers' Association was founded in 1977. Committee and member's monthly meetings were held in Kinsealy Parish Hall Co. Dublin.
When founded there were approximately 10 members, this has now grown to one hundred and thirty members over the years. The Associations Apiary from 1977 - 1990 was in Howth Co. Dublin.

An annual Beekeeping Course was commenced in Kinsealy and has grown in popularity and content over time, moving to Swords CBS and in the late 90's to Portmarnock Community School where they are still held. (see Events list)

Membership grew from strength to strength and today the Association has over 130 members. Committee and Member Meetings moved to CBS Swords in 1990. The Association Apiary was moved to Teagasc in Kinsealy around this time also.

Fingal North Dublin Beekeepers also have a Library which was set up in 2000 and named after a founder member the late Captain Eoin McAlinden who was Hon.Secretary for over 20 years. Books are available at monthly meetings or through the Librarian .
Our goal is to nurture and expand the age-old craft of Beekeeping through improving our knowledge of bees and collaboration between members.
