At a local level we support schools by supporting their students’ environmental studies by providing a classroom introduction to the bees.
Very popular with local schools, as a teacher, if your class are studying nature and the environment and you are interested in having one of our members visit and talk to the students then please do contact us.
Generally, one of our members will attend, and explain to the children the different castes of bees in a hive, what their role is, and why its so important we help and protect our native bee and other pollinators.
Depending on the time of year we can also bring along an observation hive to allow the children to see inside a hive and hopefully “spot” the Queen.
