
The John McMullan Cup
This year we are holding the inaugural John McMullan Cup competition for best honey in the show. The cup will be a perpetual cup kept for one year with the winner's name engraved, and a prize of €100.
Objective: The objective is to improve the quality of honey in the Association through exhibiting in a formal manner. The cup and prize will be presented to the best honey exhibit. It is confined to members of the Fingal North Dublin Beekeeping Association.
The following rules will apply:
N.B. Judging will be governed by the standards used in the Irish National Honey Show. The judges’ decision is final.
Our judge for the competition will be Paul Boyle - an established FIBKA (Federation of Irish Beekeepers Associations) honey judge, chairman of the County Louth Beekeepers' Association, and a certified judge with Apimondia, BBKA (British Beekeepers Association), and SBA (Scottish Beekeepers Association). He is a prominent figure in Irish and international beekeeping, known for his expertise in honey shows and bee health, having qualified as a honey judge in 2017.
